Kenneth "Ken" Howard Norton, Jr. (* 29. September 1966 in Lincoln , Illinois ) is a former American American football poker players and current trainer. The son of Ken Norton played as a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 years and won the Super Bowl three times in a row .

Since 2018 he has been the Seattle Seahawks Defensive Coordinator .

College and NFL

After graduating from high school, Norton studied sociology at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and played for UCLA Bruins . In 1988 Norton was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the NFL Draft . The linebacker played for the Texans for the next five years, winning Super Bowl XXVII and Super Bowl XXVIII with them . At Super Bowl XXVII, Ken Norton played a decisive role in the Cowboys' win when he recorded a fumble and scored a touchdown in the final quarter .

In 1993 he went to California to the San Francisco 49ers and won the Super Bowl XXIX there in the first year . This makes Ken Norton Jr. the only player to have won three Super Bowls in a row. He stayed with the 49ers until his retirement in 2000. In 1993 and 1995 Norton was nominated for the Pro Bowl .

1994 had the running back of the Los Angeles Raiders , Napoleon McCallum , his career after a tackle finish by Ken Norton. McCallum fell unhappy and broke his knee.

After the professional career

After his playing career, Ken Norton Jr. worked as a radio and television analyst and coached the Hamilton High School team .

From 2004 to 2009 he trained the linebackers with the USC Trojans . He then followed Head Coach Pete Carroll to the Seattle Seahawks , where he also trained the linebackers. With the Seahawks he won Super Bowl XLVIII and lost the following year with them in Super Bowl XLIX against the New England Patriots . In the week after the defeat by the Patriots, he moved to the 2015 season as Defensive Coordinator for the Oakland Raiders and Head Coach Jack Del Rio . In January 2018, the Seahawks signed him as their defensive coordinator.
