Burton Michael Robinson (* 6. February 1983 in Richmond , Virginia ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of the full backs . He played college football for Penn State before being selected in the 2006 NFL Draft by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round. In 2010 he moved to the Seattle Seahawks , where he ended his career in 2013 after winning Super Bowl XLVIII . Since then he has worked as a television presenter for NFL Network .

Early years

Robinson attended Varina High School , where he played for the school team for four years as a starting quarterback . He has received numerous awards, including twice elected First-Team All-State by the Associated Press . He led his team to four regional championships and two runners-up in Virginia. Overall, he passed in that time for 2,409 yards of gain and ran for 3,046 yards and 37 touchdowns . He also played as safety and posted a total of 211 tackles , 18 interceptions and 13 sacks . In addition to football, he also practiced athletics .

college

Robinson then attended Penn State University , where he switched between several offensive positions, including as quarterback and running back . In his rookie season, he ran 50 attempts for 263 yards and six touchdowns and also caught nine passes for 44 yards. In 2003 he started three games as a quarterback and five as a tailback. He brought 62 of 138 pass attempts to the teammate and scored 892 yards of space, five touchdowns and five interceptions. He also ran 107 times for 396 yards. In 2005 he had the best year of his college career and he was named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year . As a quarterback, he scored 2,350 yards of space in the passing game for 17 touchdowns and ten interceptions. In addition, he scored the second most run yards within his team (806 yards, 11 touchdowns). He led his team as captain to the Big Ten Championship and to victory in the Orange Bowl against the Florida State Seminoles . He finished fifth in the selection for the Heisman Trophy .

NFL

San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers chose Robinson as the 100th player in the 2006 NFL Draft . They trained him to fullback where he was run as the second running back behind Frank Gore after a decent preseason . He scored his first two NFL touchdowns on matchday three against the Philadelphia Eagles . In the course of his rookie season, however, he received fewer and fewer operating times and he ended the season with 38 runs for 116 yards and two touchdowns. After Fullback Zak Keasey was injured in the 2008 season, Robinson took over his role. On September 3, 2010, Robinson was released from the 49ers.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks signed Robinson on September 6, 2010 on the advice of Special Teams assistant coach Jeff Ulbrich, who had spent the four years previously as a teammate of Robinson in San Francisco and was now a coach in Seattle. In Seattle, he blocked for Marshawn Lynch and in 2011 helped him to touchdowns in eleven games in a row and to more than 1,000 yards run. Robinson was chosen for this for the only time in his career in the Pro Bowl . 2012, elected him Sports Illustrated for All-Pro after Lynch had run for 1,590 yards and eleven touchdowns. In August 2013, the Seahawks released him for medical reasons that forced him to lose more than 15 kilograms. After recovering, he was re-signed in October. Personal

Robinson received his college degrees in journalism and advertising and public relations. During his professional career, he published videos on YouTube under the title “The Real Rob Report”, in which he interviewed teammates and provided fans with background information from the lives of football professionals . He has been with the NFL Network since the end of his playing career .
