The NFL Network is an American television station that specializes in topics related to the American football league, the National Football League (NFL). The station can be received in the USA and Canada and is owned by the NFL.

The station went on the air on November 4, 2003 , just eight months after the 32 owners of the NFL teams unanimously voted for its introduction. To this end, 100 million US dollars (around 75 million euros ) were invested. The NFL Network sends out its studios in California Los Angeles .

In addition to NFL games, the station's program also deals with college football . For example, the network agreed with Conference USA in 2019 on a four-year contract for the transmission of ten games per season. Previously only the Senior Bowl and the East-West Shrine Game were broadcast. Between 2006 and 2008, regular season games from historically African American colleges and universities , as well as some bowl games, were also shown. Games from other professional leagues, such as the Canadian Football League , Arena Football League or the Alliance of American Football, are also broadcast.
