Kris Richard (* 28. October 1979 in Los Angeles , California ) is an American American football coach and former players. He coaches the defensive backs for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL).

Kris Richard was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2002 NFL Draft . The defensive back played 38 games for there , but started in just one game. After three years he moved to the Miami Dolphins in 2005 , where he left before the start of the season to play for the San Francisco 49ers , where he spent his last two seasons, but only played one game. In 2007 the Oakland Raiders signed him, but he resigned as an active player before the start of the season.

Trainer

In 2008 Pete Carroll , under whom he had played in college, brought him to the University of Southern California (USC) as a coach . When the Seattle Seahawks hired Carroll in 2010 as head coach , Richard also moved to the Seahawks, where he worked as an assistant coach to the defensive backs. In 2012, he was named Defensive Backs coach before being promoted to Defensive Coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks in 2015 , where he succeeded Dan Quinn . After the Seahawks missed the play-offs in the 2017 season, Richard was sacked on January 16, 2018. The Dallas Cowboys then hired him as a trainer of the defensive backs and passing game coordinator .
