Cooper Helfet (* 2. June 1989 in Kentfield , California ) is a former American American football player at the position of the tight ends . He last played for the Oakland Raiders in the National Football League (NFL).

college

Helfet started his career in college football at Santa Rosa Junior College in Santa Rosa , California. He soon moved to Duke University , where he spent the rest of his college years.

NFL

On May 15, 2012, the Seattle Seahawks signed Helfet as a free agent . He was released on August 31, 2013 but reassigned on January 17, 2013. He was released on August 31, 2013, and on September 2, 2013, Helfet was inducted into the Seahawks Practice Squad . After the training camp in 2014, he was accepted into the main squad and had his first appearance on September 21, 2014. In the 2014 season , he caught twelve passes for 185 yards and two touchdowns . The following season ended with 13 passes caught for 130 yards without a touchdown. On April 18, 2016, Helfet signed an exclusive contract with the Seahawks. He was released by the Seahawks on August 6, 2016.

On October 11, 2016, Helfet was hired by the Oakland Raiders for the Practice Squad. On July 25, 2017, the Raiders placed Helfet on the Non-Football Injury List. He was released on September 2, 2017.
