Cristian Mijares Ricardo Lucio (* 2. October 1981 in Durango ) is a Mexican boxer in the super flyweight .

Professional career

On November 17, 2006 Mijares boxed against Reynaldo Lopez for the interim world championship of the association WBC and won by unanimous decision of the judges. On December 6 of the same year he was declared WBC world champion without a fight. He defended this title a total of seven times. In addition, the WBA world championship belt was added in May 2006 when he won the title unification fight against Alexander Muñoz by split point decision.

On November 1, 2008 it came to the second unification of titles. In addition to the titles of the WBA and WBC associations, the IBF association held by the Armenian southpaw Vic Darchinyan was also at stake . Mijares lost this fight by knockout in round 9.

In December 2010 Mijares still managed to win the IBF world title when he defeated Juan Alberto Rosas unanimously on points. He held this title until the following year.
