Douglas Dewayne "Doug" Baldwin, Jr. (born on 21st September 1988 in Gulf Breeze , Florida ) is a former American American football poker players on the position of wide receiver . He was signed to the Seattle Seahawks as an undrafted free agent in 2011 and played for them in the National Football League (NFL) until 2018 .
Early years
Doug Baldwin grew up in Gulf Breeze, Florida and began, together with Alfred Morris , the later running back of the Washington Redskins , athletics and football at an early age . In 2006, as a senior at Gulf Breeze High School, he caught 42 passes for 682 yards and 6 touchdowns .
college
From 2007 to 2010 he played under Jim Harbaugh for the Stanford Cardinal as a wide receiver and return specialist and in his senior year led his team in yards and touchdowns.

NFL
Although he led the Stanford Cardinal as wide receiver, he was not selected in the 2011 NFL Draft , but only signed afterwards as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks . In Seattle he signed a three-year contract worth $ 1.4 million . In his first year as a pro he achieved the breakthrough, and at the end of the season he was the first ungedraftete Rookie - free agent who led his team caught passes and yards.
In the 2012 season he struggled with some injuries and only gained 366 yards of space.
In his third year he reached the Super Bowl with the Seahawks . In defeating the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII , he caught five passes for 66 yards and one touchdown.
In 2014, Baldwin signed a new two-year contract for $ 13 million, which followed an earlier one-year deal and thus ran for three years. The Seahawks moved back to the Super Bowl ( XLIX ), and he managed another touchdown. The game against the New England Patriots was lost 24:28.
On the 12th day of the 2015 season, Baldwin caught in a 39-30 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns, both career bests. Thus, for the first time since Joey Galloway in 1997, a Seahawks player caught three touchdown passes in one game. On the 14th game day he caught against the Baltimore Ravens again three touchdown passes, which he reached a total of eight times with pass catches the end zone in three consecutive games. On the fifteenth game day he got two more touchdowns against the Cleveland Browns , which he set the NFL record of Hall of Famer Jerry Rice for ten captured touchdowns in four games. At the end of the regular season , he set a new Seahawks franchise record with 14 captured touchdowns and at the same time had the league-wide season high. In addition, he was the first Seahawks receiver since Bobby Engram in 2007 to break the 1,000-yard mark with pass catches.
On June 28, 2016, Baldwin prematurely extended his contract with the Seahawks for four years. On May 9, 2019, the Seahawks released him after failing the medical check-up. Then he ended his career.
