Gulf Breeze is a city in Santa Rosa County in the US state of Florida with 5763 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Gulf Breeze is located on the Fairpoint Peninsula between Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound (part of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway ) on the Gulf Coast of the Florida Panhandle . The city is about 5 km south of Pensacola and about 40 km southwest of Milton .

In the late 1980s, Gulf Breeze gained worldwide media attention with the Gulf Breeze UFO wave .
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the then 5763 inhabitants were distributed over 2488 households. The population density was 468.5 inh / km². 95.7% of the population identified themselves as white , 0.3% as African-American , 0.6% as Native American and 1.4% as Asian Americans . 0.5% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 1.3% to several ethnic groups. 2.6% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 28.7% of all households and persons aged at least 65 years in 34.9% of all households. 67.2% of the households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.36 people and the average family size was 2.87 people.
23.7% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 15.3% were 20 to 39 years old, 34.0% were 40 to 59 years old, and 26.9% were 60 years or older. The mean age was 47 years. 48.5% of the population were male and 51.5% were female.
The median annual income was $ 80,433, with 5.3% of the population living below the poverty line.
In 2000, English was the first language of 97.65% of the population and Spanish was spoken by 2.35%.

Gulf Breeze which leads Florida State Road 399 in the US Highway 98 ( SR 30 ). To the north, the city is connected to Pensacola by the Pensacola Bay Bridge and to the south by the Bob Sikes Bridge to Santa Rosa Island . The nearest airport is Pensacola International Airport (around 15 km north).

The crime rate in 2010 was 84 points (US average: 266 points) in the low range. There was one rape, one robbery, three assaults, 13 break-ins, 66 thefts and three car thefts.
