Navarre is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Rosa County in the US state of Florida with 31,378 inhabitants (as of 2010).

Navarre is located on the Fairpoint Peninsula between Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound (part of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway ) on the Gulf Coast of the Florida Panhandle . The CDP is located approximately 35 km south of Milton and approximately 30 km east of Pensacola and is crossed by US Highway 98 ( SR 30 ) and Florida State Roads 87 and 399 .

Navarre is the second largest settlement in the Pensacola metropolitan region after Pensacola .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 31,378 inhabitants were distributed over 13,274 households. 83.2% of the population identified themselves as whites , 6.5% as African American , 0.5% as Indians and 3.3% as Asian Americans . 2.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 4.4% to several ethnic groups. 7.0% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 40.8% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 18.0% of all households. 76.3% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.72 people and the average family size was 3.08 people.

29.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 26.7% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 13.8% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 36 years. 49.7% of the population were male and 50.3% were female.

The median annual income was $ 64,805, with 10.7% of the population living below the poverty line.
