Midway is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Rosa County in the US state of Florida with 16,115 inhabitants (as of 2010).

geography

Midway is located on the Fairpoint Peninsula between Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound (part of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway ) on the Gulf Coast of the Florida Panhandle . The CDP is located around 30 km south of Milton and around 20 km east of Pensacola and is crossed by US Highway 98 ( SR 30 ).

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the then 16,115 inhabitants were distributed over 7,445 households. 92.0% of the population identified themselves as whites , 2.0% as African-Americans , 0.7% as Indians, and 1.9% as Asian Americans . 1.0% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.4% to several ethnic groups. 4.6% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010 children under 18 years of age and 24.6% of all households lived in 32.6% of all households with persons at least 65 years of age. 69.8% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.43 people and the average family size was 2.88 people.

25.1% of the population were younger than 20 years, 21.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 32.2% were 40 to 59 years old, and 21.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 42 years. 49.4% of the population were male and 50.6% were female.

The median annual income was $ 65,431, with 10.4% of the population living below the poverty line.
