East Milton is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Rosa County in the US state of Florida with 11,074 inhabitants (as of 2010).

East Milton borders directly on the city of Milton to the west and is about 35 km north of Pensacola . The CDP is crossed by US Highway 90 ( SR 10 ) and Florida State Road 87 .

Demographic data

According to the 2010 census, the 11,074 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 3,451 households. 76.1% of the population identified themselves as whites, 19.1% as African American , 0.9% as Indians and 0.5% as Asian Americans . 0.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 2.3% to several ethnic groups. 4.1% of the population was made up of Hispanics or Latinos .

In 2010, children under the age of 18 lived in 33.4% of all households and persons aged 65 and over lived in 26.8% of all households. 71.4% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 3.00.

15.8% of the population were younger than 20 years old, 35.4% were 20 to 39 years old, 30.1% were 40 to 59 years old, and 14.6% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 37 years. 63.8% of the population were male and 36.2% were female.

The median annual income was $ 41,037, with 32.2% of the population living below the poverty line.
