Oriole Beach is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Rosa County in the US state of Florida with 1420 inhabitants (as of 2010).
geography
Oriole Beach is on the Fairpoint Peninsula between Pensacola Bay and Santa Rosa Sound (part of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway ) on the Gulf Coast of the Florida Panhandle . The CDP is about 30 km south of Milton and about 15 km east of Pensacola . The CDP is crossed by US Highway 98 ( SR 30 ).
Demographic data
According to the 2010 census, the 1420 inhabitants at that time were distributed over 545 households. 93.6% of the population identified themselves as whites, 1.2% as African American , 0.7% as Indians and 0.5% as Asian Americans . 0.6% said they belonged to another ethnic group and 3.4% to several ethnic groups. 5.3% of the population was Hispanic or Latino .
In 2010 children under the age of 18 lived in 38.6% of all households and persons aged 65 or over lived in 20.2% of all households. 70.6% of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or one parent with offspring). The average household size was 2.56 and the average family size was 3.08.
29.4% of the population were younger than 20 years, 20.8% were 20 to 39 years old, 33.9% were 40 to 59 years old, and 16.0% were at least 60 years old. The mean age was 40 years. 48.9% of the population were male and 51.1% were female.
The median annual income was $ 41,736, with 9.9% of the population living below the poverty line.
