The Pro Football Hall of Fame is an American football hall of fame in Canton , Ohio . In this Hall of Fame , due to the special American development in football, almost exclusively deserving athletes, coaches and officials of the National Football League (NFL) are honored.

history

It opened on September 7, 1963, with the admission of 17 players from the early days of American football. To date, all but one player have played at least part of their careers in the NFL. The Guard Billy Shaw of the Buffalo Bills spent his entire career in the American Football League . After the new members were accepted in 2019, there is only one NFL team that does not have a Hall of Famer . These are the Jacksonville Jaguars .
