Alfred Bruce Morris (* 12. December 1988 in Pensacola , Florida ) is an American American football poker players in the position of running backs who for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League plays (NFL). He was selected by the Washington Redskins in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft and previously played college football for Florida Atlantic University .

High school

Morris attended Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, where he practiced football, basketball, and track and field . In football, he played both offense and defense . He ran 1,049 yards for 17 touchdowns . In defense, he put 147 tackles and caught five interceptions . He was named the North West Florida MVP , the First-Team All-State (fictional national team) and several times the MVP of a game. He was also extremely successful in athletics.

college

In the 2009 season at Florida Atlantic University , he ran 236 runs, 1,392 yards and eleven touchdowns. In his next season he managed to gain 928 yards of space and seven touchdowns in 227 attempts. This gives an average gain of 4.1 yards per run.

NFL

Washington Redskins

On May 6, 2012, Morris signed a four-year deal with the Washington Redskins . Morris finished his first season with the Redskins with 1,613 yards run and 13 touchdowns. He became the fourth player in NFL history to run over 1,600 yards in his rookie season. He ran 1,275 yards in the 2013 season and 1,074 yards in the 2014 season . Morris was thus only the fourth running back in the history of the Redskins, who managed to run over 1000 yards in three consecutive seasons.

Dallas Cowboys

After his contract with the Redskins expired, he signed a two-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys on March 22, 2016 .

San Francisco 49ers

On August 14, 2018, he signed a new contract with the San Francisco 49ers, where he temporarily advanced to starting running back after Jerick McKinnon's injury .

Dallas Cowboys

After a year-long stint with the 49ers, Morris returned to the Dallas Cowboys during Ezekiel Elliott's training strike on July 29, 2019 to use his experience to reinforce the Cowboys' backfield.

Private life

Alfred is the son of Ronald and Yvonne Morris and has six brothers. One of his brothers, Shawn Morris, played college football for Birmingham – Southern College from 2009 to 2012 .
