The Seattle Times is an American daily newspaper in Washington state . It is based in Seattle . It was founded in 1891 as the Seattle Press-Times with a circulation of 3,500 copies and is now the highest-circulation newspaper in the state. The newspaper is published by The Seattle Times Company , which is majority owned by the Blethen family. The newspaper's reports have already received the Pulitzer Prize nine times . The current circulation is around 275,000 copies. The editor is Frank A. Blethen, the editorial team is led by Kathy Best.
