Diego Martín Rodríguez , full name Diego Martín Rodríguez Berrini (born September 4, 1989 in Montevideo ) is a Uruguayan football player .

Career

society

The 1.70 meter tall midfielder called "Torito" was in the first division Defensors at least from Clausura 2009 . From that point on, he played 87 games in the Primera División and scored four goals. He also played at least eight times in the Copa Libertadores (one goal) and four times in the Copa Sudamericana (one goal). In January 2013, he moved to the Italian first division Udinese Calcio for six months on loan , who also secured a purchase option. In Serie A , however, he was only used once. When the loan contract expired, his time in Italy ended. In the 2013/14 season he moved - again as part of a loan deal - to Godoy Cruz in Argentina . With the Argentines he completed 49 league games (two goals), two games in the Copa Sudamericana and one use in the Copa Argentina . In mid-January 2015 he was transferred to CA Independiente . So far (as of February 21, 2017) he played there in 36 first division matches and scored one goal. He was also used in two games (no goal) of the Copa Argentina and four games (no goal) of the Copa Sudamericana 2016 .

National team

Rodríguez made his debut in the Uruguayan U-20 team under coach Diego Aguirre on December 19, 2008 in a friendly against Chile. In total, he ran 14 times for this team. He was part of the Uruguayan squad at the U-20 World Cup 2009 and the U-20 South American Championship that year. In the two tournaments he played three and five games. At the Pan American Games in 2011 he won the bronze medal with the Celeste. It was used there five times after its debut on October 21, 2011. 2012 Rodríguez took part with the Uruguayan Olympic team at the Summer Olympics in London . He has played five times since his debut on April 25, 2012 (against Egypt) for the Olympic team.

In addition, he has already been appointed to the squad twice for games in the senior national team.
