The Postal Schalldorf is an Outbound castle about 225 meters south-southwest of the chapel of the district Schalldorf the municipality Emmering in the district of Ebersberg in Bavaria .
The castle was probably built by the Lords of Schalldorf, who were first mentioned in 1180 with the name "Schalchdorf". The Lords of Schalldorf, Ministeriale of the Counts of Wasserburg, sat in the castle until the 15th century, which was demolished by the beginning of the 19th century at the latest. Today the site is registered as a ground monument D-1-8038-0037 "Burgstall des Mittelalter" by the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation .
The name Schalldorf goes back to the word "Schalke = servant".
