Pöring Castle (Ebersberg district)

Pöring Castle was a former castle in Pöring in the municipality of Zorneding in the Ebersberg district .

history

A local nobility was first mentioned in Pöring around 1180, and the castle was the ancestral seat of the Pöring family. In 1632 this castle was burned down by the Swedes, in 1661 a new castle was built . The history of the noble seat ended around 1830. Today, the site of the castle is protected as a ground monument with the number D-1-7937-0125: "Castle stalls of the late Middle Ages and early modern times (" Sitz und Sedl Pöring ") with an associated farmyard" overbuilt with a residential building.
