Egmating Castle
The Egmating Castle is located southeast of the Bavarian capital Munich in Egmating . The castle is listed as an architectural monument. It is a former Imperial Palace . The current main building dates from the 17th century, while the brewery and farm buildings date from the first half of the 19th century. The castle now houses owner-occupied apartments, the clubhouse of the Egmating Castle golf course and a castle restaurant.
Since 1449 the castle or the previous building was owned by the Schrenks council family. In later centuries it was owned by the Barons Schrenck von Notzing and Egmating, the Barons von Horn, the Count Arco auf Zinneberg and the Barons von Büsing-d'Orville.
Egmating Castle Golf Course
To the east of the castle, a golf course was built in 1991 on approximately 80 hectares of land. The owner and founder of the golf course Schloss Egmating is Bavaria Golfanlagen GmbH & Co. Schloss Egmating KG, a subsidiary of the Schörghuber group of companies . The entire facility started playing in 1992. In the following year, Golf Sport magazine named it one of the “30 best facilities in Germany”. In 2015 and 2016, the German AK 35 championships took place on the golf course.
The Golf Club Schloss Egmating with its 27-hole course is located very close to the city south-east of Munich and offers an 18-hole championship course and the 9-hole Arabella course with a spacious driving range as well as a chipping and pitch area and putting green. The relatively flat area was made into a varied place by extensive planting, protection areas and biotopes.
On the golf course, guests can play on the course for a green fee. In addition, weekly introductory courses ( taster courses ) and golf license courses are offered for those interested.
