Daniel Fonseca Garis (born September 13, 1969 in Montevideo ) is a former Uruguayan football player . Today he works as a player advisor. He is the half-brother of the national soccer players Juan Ramón and Jorge Curbelo .
Career
society
Daniel Fonseca began his football career in Uruguay in 1988 with Nacional Montevideo . In 1990 he moved to Italy to Cagliari Calcio , where he scored 17 goals in 50 games. In 1992 he went to SSC Napoli . Here Fonseca developed into a top striker and scored 31 goals in two seasons. As a result, AS Roma became aware of him and signed him in 1994. In Rome , however, he could not prevail and usually had to give way to other strikers.
In 1997 Fonseca went to Juventus Turin . He stayed there for three years and won the Italian championship with the old lady in 1997/98 . In 2002, the Uruguayan moved to Argentina , to River Plate . In 2002 the Italian club Como Calcio signed him. In 2003 he ended his career there.
National team
In the Uruguayan national team , Fonseca completed 30 games in which he scored ten goals. He made his debut on February 2, 1990. His last assignment in the Celeste was on September 10, 1997.
In 1990 he was part of his home country's squad at the World Cup in Italy , which was eliminated in the round of 16. In 1995 the Copa America won with Uruguay, which was played at home .
