Kléber de Carvalho Corrêa , called Kléber , (born April 1, 1980 in São Paulo ) is a Brazilian football player who has been under contract with SC Internacional since 2009 . His preferred position is that of left back.

Career

Kléber began his career at Corinthians São Paulo , where he was part of the professional squad from 1998. With Corinthians São Paulo he won the Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol in 1998 and 1999 , the Copa do Brasil in 2002, the São Paulo State Cup in 1999, 2001 and 2003 , the FIFA Club World Cup in 2000 and the Torneio Rio-São Paulo in 2002 . For the 2003/04 season he was awarded to Hannover 96 , which however did not commit him afterwards. Instead, FC Basel bought him and gave him a three-year contract. With FC Basel he was Swiss champion in the 2004/05 season. After only a year, however, he left FC Basel and returned to Brazil to play for FC Santos from now on . With FC Santos he won the São Paulo state championship in 2006 and 2007 and was awarded the Bola de Prata as the best left defender in the Brazilian league in those years . In January 2009 he moved to SC Internacional, with which he won the 2009 Rio Grande do Sul state championship and was awarded the Bola de Prata for the third time.

With his club SC Internacional he won the Copa Libertadores 2010 .

Kléber made his debut on January 31, 2002 in the international match against Bolivia in the Brazilian national football team . With Brazil he took part in the Confederations Cup in 2003 , where he was used in all games in Brazil. After not playing for the national team for almost four years, he was called up for the first time in March 2007 and also took part in the 2007 Copa America , which he won with Brazil. On September 12, 2007, he scored his first goal in a friendly against Mexico . In June 2009 he took part in the Confederations Cup 2009 , which he won with Brazil.
