Luciano Félix Leguizamón (born July 1, 1982 in Concepción del Uruguay , Entre Ríos province ) is an Argentine football player on the position of a striker . Since the beginning of 2016 he has been playing for Gimnasia CdU in Argentina.

Career

Career start at home

Leguizamón began his active career as a football player in the youth division of the Club Gimnasia y Esgrima Concepción del Uruguay in his hometown of Concepción del Uruguay. After several years in the youth section of the club, he was from 1999 in the first team squad of the club and came already sporadic operations in the third-rate Torneo Argentino A . After a few years at Gimnasia CU, Leguizamón moved to CA River Plate in Buenos Aires in 2002 , where he made a total of two league appearances in the country's top division. In the Torneo Apertura 2002 , in which the young striker was in action, the team reached third place in the table.

In the Torneo Clausura 2003 , the 1.72 m tall striker played in 13 championship games for Unión de Santa Fe in the top division of Argentina and scored three goals. A relegation to the Primera B National , the second highest level in Argentine football, could not be prevented because the team was too weak in the relegation.

Short move to Spain and return to Argentina

For the 2003/04 season , Luciano Leguizamón moved to Polideportivo Ejido in the Segunda División , the second highest Spanish division, where he was used in 13 championship games, but scored no goals. The team was still lucky not to slip into the third division and barely managed to stay in the league this season. After playing 13 league games in Europe, the young striker returned to South America and again played two championship games for River Plate. He was used in a single league game in the Torneo Clausura in 2004 and contributed a tiny part to the championship title at the end of the season.

After he was not used in the current championship in the Torneo Apertura 2004 , he completed another championship game for the Torneo Clausura 2005 . In this season, however, the team did not come out on a tenth place in the table. At Apertura 2005 Leguizamón was awarded to the then second division club CA Talleres , in which he scored three goals in 14 league games. Since he showed there through good performances, he was committed to the club management in the following season, the Clausura 2006. He came up with a record of 16 league appearances in which he scored eight goals.

The time at Gimnasia LP

From the Torneo Apertura 2006 , the offensive player dared another club change and signed a professional contract with Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata , Gimnasia LP for short. At the end of the season, the team was in 13th place in the table, but had the worst goal difference in the entire league. Luciano Leguizamón was used in twelve championship games and scored two goals. In the following season , the team only reached 18th place; the 1.72 m tall striker contributed four hits in 16 league games.

After the Torneo Apertura 2007 did not bring the hoped-for turnaround and the team again only reached 18th place in the table, Leguizamón decided to change the club again. During the Copa Libertadores 2007 , the team was eliminated - Leguizamón scored two goals in four games - already in the group stage. But the fans of Gimnasia LP also turned against him this season when he swapped shirts with Estudiantes player Juan Sebastián Verón during the half-time break of a game against arch rivals Estudiantes de La Plata and under his own shirt during the second half worn by the Argentine international. That should also have been the main reason for Leguizamón's departure.

Transfer to Arsenal de Sarandí

At Torneo Clausura 2008 , the offensive player was transferred to league rivals Arsenal de Sarandí , where he scored seven goals in 18 championship games in the first season and was ranked 10th in the final table with the team. During the Torneo Apertura 2008 , the center forward played 14 league games and scored five goals. With the team he reached a fifth place in the final table. He was also in six games of the 2008 Copa Libertadores in 2008, in which he scored three goals. However, the team did not get beyond the group stage and dropped out of group 8 from the current competition.

With Arsenal de Sarandí as defending champion, Leguizamón took part in the Copa Sudamericana 2008 , but was eliminated from the competition in the sixteenth-finals against later finalists and former arch-rivals Estudiantes de La Plata. He also took part in both games of the Recopa Sudamericana in 2008 against the Boca Juniors , although the team lost with a total score of 3: 5 from the first and second leg. With the following season, the Torneo Clausura 2009 , a performance slump followed in the league events of Arsenal de Sarandí, with only an 18th place being reached in the final table. The striker played a total of 17 games and scored six goals.

Change to Saudi Arabia on loan and return to South America

From August 2009, the now 27-year-old offensive player switched to Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Professional League , the top division in Saudi Arabian football. With the Arabs he played in the AFC Champions League 2009 , in which he scored a goal in three games and came with the team to the final of the competition . He came to his missions in the 4-0 victory in the quarter-final second leg over the Uzbek club Pakhtakor Tashkent , and in the 6-2 semi-final first leg win over Nagoya Grampus Eight from Japan . Luciano Leguizamón was also a substitute in the final against the Pohang Steelers .

After performing well in Saudi Arabia, the Argentine returned to his home country in January 2010. There he held a regular position at Arsenal before moving to CA Independiente in mid-2012 . There he was only used irregularly in the 2012/13 season. In mid-2013 he moved to CA Colón . However, at the beginning of 2014 he went to Chile, where he joined CD Everton . Leguizamón played there for half a year. In August 2014 he moved to UTC Cajamarca in Peru, where he was only deployed three times. In 2015 he played for Guaraní Antonio Franco before returning to Gimnasia CdU in early 2016.
