José Luis Cuciuffo (* 1. February 1961 in Cordoba ; † 11. December 2004 in Bahía San Blas ) was an Argentine footballer who plays with the national team of his native country at the 1986 FIFA World Cup took part and this also won.
Career
Club career
José Luis Cuciuffo started playing football at CA Huracán, a smaller club in his hometown of Cordoba . In 1980 he was signed by CA Chaco For Ever and made ten games for the club in one year. In 1981 he was signed by CA Talleres , the best club in Córdoba at the time. After 43 league games in Argentina's championship, Cuciuffo moved to CA Vélez Sarsfield in Buenos Aires in 1982 . At Vélez he played six years until 1987 and made 185 league games in that time, in which he scored eight goals. However, he did not win a title with Vélez Sársfield. In 1987 he left the club and joined the Boca Juniors , where he made 102 league appearances by 1990 and scored four goals. He was denied winning the Argentine football championship with Boca. In 1990 he dared to move to Europe and from then on played for Olympique Nîmes in France's second division. In his first season he rose with Nîmes in Division 1, today's Ligue 1 , and was able to create relegation in the following season. After relegation in 1993, Cuciuffo left the club and went back to Argentina to play for another six months for CA Belgrano in his hometown, before ending his active career in 1993 at the age of 32.
National team
Between 1986 and 1989, José Luis Cuciuffo made eight international matches in the Argentine national football team . To have played without a single international game, he became national coach Carlos Bilardo into the squad for the 1986 FIFA World Cup in Mexico called. At the tournament he was used in all games with the exception of the first group game against South Korea . He was on the pitch when Argentina defeated England in the legendary semi-finals of Mexico City by the hand of God and the goal of the century and when they won the football world championship for the second time in the country's history by beating Germany 3-2 in the final .

José Luis Cuciuffo died on December 11, 2004 at the age of 43 in a hunting accident that occurred near the town of Carmen de Patagones on the southwestern edge of the province of Buenos Aires , about seven hundred kilometers from the capital. He was taken to the Bahía San Blas hospital, where he succumbed to serious injuries, mainly to the liver.
