society

Muriel played in his youth in the youth teams of the Brazilian first division club Internacional Porto Alegre , before he also trained with the first team from 2007. However, he was only a substitute goalkeeper at first. In 2009 he was loaned out to SER Caxias do Sul in Série C and to Portuguesa in Série B for six months to gain match practice. He returned to Internacional Porto Alegre in early 2010 but was still a substitute goalkeeper behind Renan and Roberto Abbondanzieri . After Abbondanzieri ended his career in January 2011, Muriel Renan was able to oust him as a goalkeeper and has been a regular goalkeeper ever since. This should change for the 2016 championship, Muriel was loaned to EC Bahia in exchange with Marcelo Lomba until the end of the year . With the club he played 22 games in the B series. At the end of the season, Muriel returned to Internacional . His contract with the club ended in May 2017.

After his contract expired, Muriel moved to Portugal to Belenenses Lisbon on a free transfer . After an 8-1 defeat by Sporting Lisbon in May 2019, in which Muriel received a red card and was blamed for several goals conceded, he did not appear at Belenenses . Then in July he went back to Brazil.

Here he signed a three-year contract with Fluminense Rio de Janeiro .
