Alisson Ramsés Becker , usually just called Alisson (born October 2, 1992 in Novo Hamburgo ), is a Brazilian soccer goalkeeper . He has been under contract with Liverpool FC since July 2018 . He is also a Brazilian international .

Alisson Becker has been voted World Goalkeeper 2019 by IFFHS , FIFA and France Football .

Club career

International Porto Alegre

Born in Novo Hamburgo in the southern state of Rio Grande do Sul , Alisson joined the young academy of Internacional Porto Alegre at the age of ten . On February 17, 2013 he came in the state championship of Rio Grande do Sul against Esporte Clube Cruzeiro for the first time for the first team to use. In his first season he was not a regular goalkeeper and only made six games. A season later, Alisson competed with Dida for the place of the goalkeeper and ran in eleven games. In the new season he was finally a regular goalkeeper.

AS Roma

After three years in Porto Alegre, Alisson moved to AS Roma in 2016 . He played his first appearance for the club in the play-offs of the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League against FC Porto on 17 August 2016. In his first season he was the number two behind the Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny ; after his departure Alisson rose to the new goalkeeper of the Romans. After completing his second Champions League season in 2017/18 with AS Roma, he was voted into the team of the season. In addition, he was elected Goalkeeper of the Year 2017/18 and Team of the Year 2017/18 in Serie A.

Liverpool FC

For the 2018/19 season Alisson moved to the English Premier League for Liverpool FC . The transfer fee of 75 million euros was a new record for goalkeepers. In 2019 , Alisson won the UEFA Champions League with Liverpool . He came to 13 missions. He received the Golden Glove of the English Premier League 2018/19 for his performance . In December 2019, Alisson and Liverpool won the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup against Flamengo Rio de Janeiro 1-0 after extra time. In the season 2019/20 Alisson won the English championship with Liverpool.

Alisson competed for the U-17 at the 2009 U-17 World Cup . With the U-21 selection, Becker won the 2013 Toulon tournament .

A team

He has been in the squad of the first selection since 2015. At the 2018 World Cup , he was the goalkeeper in Brazil's squad. Likewise at the Copa América 2019 , which he won with the team.

Private

Alisson is the son of José Agostinho Becker and Magali Lino de Souza Becker. Alisson's ancestors came from Mettnich, a district of Primstal in today's Saarland , in the south of Brazil in the 19th century . They settled not far from the border with Uruguay . His father still speaks German , Alisson does not speak the language. Because of his origins, he had applied for a German passport , which he did not get because he is the seventh generation of his family to live in Brazil and German citizenship is only granted up to the third generation.

Alisson's older brother Muriel Gustavo Becker (* 1987) is also a soccer goalkeeper and plays in the Brazilian first division for Fluminense Rio de Janeiro .
