Trent Alexander-Arnold (born October 7, 1998 in Liverpool ) is an English football player on the position of right full-back . From 2004 he went through all youth teams of the youth academy of Liverpool FC . Since the 2016/17 season , Alexander-Arnold has been an integral part of the professional team of the "Reds". In addition, he has been playing in 2018 for the senior national team of his country.

Career

At the age of six, Trent Alexander-Arnold, a native of Liverpool, joined the youth team at Liverpool FC . Throughout his youth he belonged to the respective youth teams of the Reds and was captain of his team in both the U16 and the U18. In December 2016, he made his Premier League debut under coach Jürgen Klopp when he was substituted on for Divock Origi in stoppage time in the 3-0 away win against FC Middlesbrough . His first game over the entire season followed on matchday 21 in a 1-1 draw at Manchester United . Since then, Alexander-Arnold has been an integral part of the professional team.

Alexander-Arnold scored his first competitive goal for the professionals in the play-off first leg of the 2017/18 UEFA Champions League when he converted a free kick to 1-0 lead in the away game against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim .

In the 2018/19 season he won the Champions League with Liverpool. Alexander-Arnold was a regular player in the tournament and played in the final for the entire duration of the game. In December 2019, Alexander-Arnold and Liverpool won the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup against Flamengo Rio de Janeiro 1-0 after extra time.

National team

Since his debut in the English U-16 national team, Alexander-Arnold has gone through all youth selections up to U-19 . Although he had completed all the qualifying matches for the U-19 European Championship in Georgia , he was not nominated by U-19 national coach Keith Downing for the finals, from which the English later emerged as winners.

Alexander-Arnold would also have been eligible to play for the United States national team, but on June 28, 2018, he came on as a substitute for the England senior team in the 79th minute of his competitive debut in the 2018 World Cup against Belgium and has been since then only eligible to play for England. It was his only appearance at this World Cup.
