Rhian Joel Brewster (* 1. April 2000 in London ) is an English footballer of FC Liverpool .

Club career

At the age of seven years Rhian Brewster was whose mother Cyprus Turkish woman is, by representatives from Chelsea , Arsenal , West Ham United and Charlton Athletic ge scouting . He eventually joined Chelsea, for whom he played in the club academy until he was 14. He then moved to Liverpool. Brewster's decision to take the move was partly motivated by the influence of his father, who believed he had better chances of making the first team at Liverpool than at Chelsea. He first played for the club's U18 team before being promoted to the U23 team.

Brewster was then called up by coach Jürgen Klopp in October and November 2016 as the first team for a series of friendly matches. Later that season he was named to the squad for Liverpool's Premier League game against Crystal Palace on April 23, 2017, but was not featured. On January 12, 2018, during a U23 game against the Manchester City reserves , he was seriously injured and was sidelined for over a year following a supination trauma . In May 2018, Liverpool FC canceled a friendly against Borussia Mönchengladbach and raised allegations of " illegal rapprochement " with the then still underage player against the German club. In June 2018, Brewster signed a five-year professional contract with Liverpool FC. Brewster played his first competitive game in professional football on September 25, 2019 in the League Cup against Milton Keynes Dons .

In January 2020 he was loaned out to the EFL Championship at Swansea City . By the end of the 2019/20 season, Brewster had scored 10 goals in 20 league games (19 times from the start). In 6th place Swansea City qualified for the play-off games for promotion. There the striker was used in both semi-finals against Brentford FC and scored a goal. However, this was not enough to reach the final.

National team

Brewster won the 2017 World Cup in India with England's U17 national team and was the tournament's top scorer with eight goals. On September 6, 2019, he made his debut for his country's U-21 selection in a game against Turkey .
