Konstantinos "Kostas" Tsimikas ( Greek Κωνσταντίνος Τσιμίκας , born May 12, 1996 in Thessaloniki ) is a Greek football player who is under contract with Liverpool FC . The left full-back has been a Greek international since October 2018 .

Konstantinos Tsimikas, who was born in Thessaloniki , moved to the youth department of Olympiacos Piraeus in the summer of 2014 , having previously played for the youth teams of Neapoli Thessaloniki and Panserraikos . He made his debut for the first team on October 28, 2015 in a 2-2 cup win over AO Platanias . He played his first game in the top Greek league on December 19, 2015 (15th matchday) in a 2-0 away win against AEL Kalloni , when he came on for Omar Elabdellaoui in the 74th minute of the game . In the 2015/16 season , the left full-back played three league games and six cup games and became Greek champions with the team.

After he was used in only one league game and two cup games in the following season 2016/17 , Tsimikas was loaned to the Danish first division club Esbjerg fB on December 28, 2016 . There he made his debut on February 17, 2017 (22nd matchday) in a 3-0 home win against SönderjyskE . In that game he scored one goal and set up another goal. At Esbjerg he was regularly included in the starting line-up and returned to Piraeus at the end of the 2016/17 season . In 13 league games he had two goals and two assists.

On June 30, 2017, he was loaned to the Dutch honorary division Willem II Tilburg for the entire 2017/18 season. There he made his debut on August 13, 2017 (1st matchday) in the 1: 2 home defeat against Excelsior Rotterdam . At the Tricolores he quickly rose to become a regular. On September 20, Tsimikas scored two goals in a 4-2 away win against CSV Apeldoorn at KNVB Beker and prepared another goal. In total, he completed 33 of the 34 possible league games and was able to score three goals and prepare three more goals.

Back at Olympiakos, he missed the final leap into the starting line-up in the 2018/19 season and only played 15 league games in which he was unable to contribute a goal. However , he was regularly in the starting line-up in the 2018/19 UEFA Europa League , as well as in the cup. He established himself as an undisputed regular player in the following season 2019/20 and completed the group stage of the 2019/20 UEFA Champions League with the club , which ended with third place in the table and the club for the knockout phase of the UEFA Europa League 2019/20 qualified. Tsimikas aroused the interest of various larger clubs during the season with good performances in the league and in international business.

On August 10, 2020, Tsimikas moved to Liverpool FC , where he signed a long-term contract.

National team

In September 2014 Konstantinos Tsimikas played for the Greek U19 national team for the first time . In July 2015 he took part in the U19 European Championship 2015 in his own country with the selection . In the group stage he played all three games and also in the 4-0 semi-final defeat against Russia he was on the field. After the tournament, he was not called up after 13 international matches. From September 2016 to November 2018, he played 17 games for the U21s , in which he scored twice.

On October 12, 2018 debuted Konstantinos Tsimikas at 1: 0 home win over Hungary in the UEFA Nations League 2018/19 for the senior team and prepared the only goal of Konstantinos Mitroglou before.
