Odair Hellmann (born January 22, 1977 in Salete , Santa Catarina ) is a former Brazilian soccer player and today's soccer coach .

Career as a player

Odair Hellmann played as a player for Internacional Porto Alegre and Fluminense Rio de Janeiro, among others . He was also under contract with Enköpings SK in Sweden and with Eastern AA in Hong Kong . In January 2009 he ended his playing career.

Career as a coach

After the end of his career as a player, he coached the U17s and the U20s at Internacional Porto Alegre before becoming assistant coach for the pros in 2013. Over the years, Odair Hellmann stepped in as an interim coach before being promoted to head coach for the 2018 season. In the meantime he was also part of the coaching staff of the Brazilian Olympic team, which won the gold medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

In 2018 Odair qualified for the Copa Libertadores 2019 with Internacional as a promoted team . In this the team reached the quarterfinals. In the Copa do Brasil 2019 Inter finished second. Despite the good results in the cup competitions, Odair, lying in sixth place in the table, was dismissed by Internacional in October 2019.
