Anderson Luiz de Carvalho , better known as Nenê (born July 19, 1981 in Jundiaí , São Paulo ) is a Spanish - Brazilian soccer player who currently plays for São Paulo FC . The left foot is known for both his ability to dribble and dangerous free kicks.

Career

In the club

Nenê began his professional career in 1999 with the Brazilian club Paulista FC from the city of Jundiaí (state of São Paulo ). Before that he spent a year in Portugal at the Sporting Lisbon Youth Academy . In 2001 he joined the Palmeiras São Paulo , where he - mostly as a substitute - scored five goals in 24 league games. After only a year he switched to league rivals FC Santos , where he met fellow players Robinho , Diego and Elano , who would later make a career in Europe. Nenê also became the focus of European clubs after scoring eight goals in just nine games.

In 2003 he switched to the Spanish club RCD Mallorca on loan . Although he was one of the top performers with nine goals in 29 appearances, Mallorca did not take the agreed purchase option. Nevertheless, he had caused a stir with strong performances in Spain and therefore Deportivo Alavés signed the Brazilian after the loan expired. He also presented himself with strong performances at Alavés.

In summer 2006 Nenê was signed by Celta Vigo for four million euros. After a strong season with nine goals, he signed with AS Monaco in 2007 ; the Monegasque had to pay a transfer fee of six million euros to the Spaniards. After a moderate season in French Ligue 1 , Nenê moved back to Spain, where he joined Espanyol Barcelona on a one-year loan . The agreed purchase option was not drawn, which is why he returned to AS Monaco in 2009. 2009/10 was the best season of the fast dribbler, he scored 14 league goals.

In 2010 he moved to the French capital club Paris Saint-Germain for a fee of 5.5 million euros . He started the 2010/11 season with seven goals and impressive performances (especially in the Europa League ). Nenê was France's top scorer in the 2011/12 season with 21 goals scored alongside player Olivier Giroud . After the club invested a lot of money for new players during the summer break, Nenê became a substitute in the first half of the 2012/13 season.

On January 15, 2013 Nenê moved to the Qatari Stars League for al-Gharafa Sports Club . In terms of football, things went very well for the Brazilian in Qatar. He has been a top performer since he was transferred and was also appointed al-Gharafa's play sensor. He made negative headlines when he got in the game against league rivals al-Arabi in an argument with the also European experienced Moroccan Houssine Kharja . Kharja had prevented Nene's dribbling several times with fouls, whereupon Nene allowed himself to be provoked and gave Kharja a punch to the head. In the subsequent pack formation, Nene was jumped by Kharja.

After his contract in Qatar expired in early 2015, he joined the English first division side West Ham United , which is his first stop in the English Premier League, on a free transfer. However, due to weak form, Nenê only appeared eight times at West Ham, where he was never in the starting line-up. After the 2014/15 season went back to Brazil. Here he initially joined the CR Vasco da Gama for two and a half years . At the beginning of 2018 he moved to FC São Paulo and in July 2019 to Fluminense Rio de Janeiro .

In the national team

In 2003 Nenê played four games for the Brazilian U23 national team . In 2010 he was in the extended squad of Spain for the 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa . Spain coach Vicente del Bosque promised him a job for the Spanish national soccer team .
