Kylian Mbappé Lottin (born December 20, 1998 in Paris ) is a French football player . The striker is under contract with Paris Saint-Germain in Ligue 1 and is a French international . At the 2018 World Cup , at the age of 19, he was named world champion and best young player of the tournament.

Childhood and family

Mbappé was born in 1998 in Paris to a Cameroonian and an Algerian and grew up in the Parisian Banlieue Bondy . He comes from an active family: his father Wilfried Mbappé was a soccer player and youth coach in Bondy and his mother Fayza Lamari played handball in the top French league. His older adoptive brother Jirès Kembo is also a professional footballer. He got his famous goal celebration from his younger brother Ethan.

Beginnings and breakthrough in Monaco

Mbappé started playing football at AS Bondy when he was five . After he was trained from 2011 to 2013 at the young talent center Center technique national Fernand-Sastre in Clairefontaine-en-Yvelines , whose teams take part in regular competitions as INF Clairefontaine , he moved to the youth department of AS Monaco . Mbappé played two games for the French U17s in 2014 and eleven games in 2016 for the U19s , with which he became European U19s in the same year . In March 2017 he was appointed to the senior national team for the first time .

On March 25, 2017, Mbappé came on for Dimitri Payet in the 78th minute in the 3-1 win in the World Cup qualifier against Luxembourg, making his debut in the senior national team at the age of 18 years and 95 days. He became France's youngest international player in 62 years when Maryan Wisnieski made his debut with the Bleus. Three days later, national coach Didier Deschamps included Mbappé in a friendly against Spain in the starting line-up.

He made it into the French squad for the 2018 World Cup . With his decisive goal to make it 1-0 in the second group match against Peru , the team qualified early for the round of 16. He was voted player of the game and is the youngest ever French player to appear in a World Cup. With two goals, Mbappé also contributed to the 4-3 win in the round of 16 against Argentina and was again named Man of the Match . The French national team became world champions, he himself, at the time 19 years old, scored four tournament goals, one of them in a 4-2 in the final against Croatia . He was recognized as the best young player (U21 and first World Cup participation) of the tournament.
