Ballon d'Or 2018

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 63rd Ballon d'Or ( French for Golden Ball ) was awarded on December 3, 2018 by France Football magazine in Paris . Two new prizes were introduced at the awards ceremony: the Ballon d'Or féminin for the best female player and the Kopa trophy ( Trophée Kopa ) named after Raymond Kopa for the best footballer under the age of 21.

The winner of the Ballon d'Or féminin , Ada Hegerberg , was asked by moderator Martin Solveig in an interview whether she could twerk , which she denied. Solveig later apologized for the comment, stating that it was a bad joke. Even so, the incident was seen as an example of sexism in sports.

The prize was awarded by a jury made up of 176 specialist journalists from as many countries. These could award six, four, three, two or one point / s to five players from the pre-selection list.
