Gianluigi "Gigio" Donnarumma (born February 25, 1999 in Castellammare di Stabia ) is an Italian football goalkeeper . He is under contract with AC Milan in Serie A and is a national team player .
Career
society
Donnarumma was trained at Club Napoli in his native Castellammare di Stabia in the greater Naples area and was signed by AC Milan in 2013 at the age of 14 . At the traditional northern Italian club, he moved up to the first team for the 2015/16 season . On October 25, 2015, at the age of 16 years and eight months, he made his league debut in a 2-1 home win against US Sassuolo Calcio under coach Siniša Mihajlović . This makes him the youngest goalkeeper to start with in Serie A history . In his first season Donnarumma came to 30 missions in which he conceded 29 goals. At the beginning of October 2016, Donnarumma was named best talent of 1999 by the British daily The Guardian .
National team
Donnarumma played four times for the U15 of the Italian Football Association . With the U17 national team , he took part in the U17 European Championship in Bulgaria in May 2015 . He was used in all five games of his team and came with her to the quarter-finals .
At the beginning of November 2015, Donnarumma was nominated for the first time for the U21 national team by coach Luigi Di Biagio and made his debut on March 24, 2016 in a 4-1 win against Ireland .
