Léonardo Campos Duarte da Silva (* 17th July 1996 in Mococa , State of São Paulo ) is a Brazilian footballer , who as a central defender for AC Milan of Serie A play.

Career

Duarte moved as a youth player from Desportivo Brasil to Flamengo Rio de Janeiro in 2014 , where he won several youth tournaments and became one of the club's most interesting talents. On March 5, 2016, Duarte made his debut as a starting player in a game of the 2016 Rio de Janeiro State Championship . He made his first game in the Brazilian Série A on May 14, 2016 in a 1-0 win over Sport Recife . As a player, he won the state championship of Rio de Janeiro twice with Flamengo. In the 2018 season he became a regular player and played 33 games. On August 22, 2018, Duarte extended his contract with Flamengo until December 2022.

The move from Duarte to AC Milan was announced on July 27, 2019. The transfer fee was 10 million euros and can increase to 11 million through additional payments. Duarte signed a five-year contract. He made his debut in the Italian Serie A on September 29, 2019 in a 3-1 home defeat by Fiorentina when he came on for Krzysztof Piątek in the 57th minute .
