Rade Krunić (born October 7, 1993 in Foča ) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian football player . The midfielder is under contract with AC Milan and is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian international .

Career

Krunić began his career in 2012 with his hometown club FK Sutjeska Foča , for which he also played his first professional game. In January 2013 he moved to the Serbian SuperLiga club FK Donji Srem . In August 2014 he moved to Italy to Hellas Verona , but was immediately loaned back to Donji Srem for half a year. In January 2015, Krunić only returned to Verona after Hellas complained to UEFA and FIFA . Because of further arguments, the club wanted to sell him immediately without Krunić ever playing for Hellas. After a transfer to FK Red Star Belgrade failed, Krunić moved to FK Borac Čačak on January 30, 2015 .

Half a year later, on June 30, 2015, he signed a three-year contract with FC Empoli . Krunić made his Serie A debut for Empoli on October 4, 2015 in the game against Sassuolo Calcio . He scored his first goal for his new club on October 24, 2015 against CFC Genoa . In the 2016/17 season he had to accept relegation to Serie B with Empoli . In the following season 2017/18 Krunić extended his contract term until June 2021. In this season Krunić was an important part of the team with which he managed to immediately return to Serie A. In 36 league games he scored five goals and prepared ten more. In the next 2018/19 season he retained his regular place in the central midfield and scored five goals in 33 league games and prepared six more.

After he suffered relegation to Serie B with Empoli, he joined the Serie A 2019/20 the AC Milan , where he signed a five-year contract.

National team

After playing for the Bosnian-Herzegovinian U21 national team, he made his debut for the A selection in a friendly against Denmark on June 3, 2016 . He scored his first goal on March 23, 2019 in a 2-1 home win against Armenia in qualifying for the 2020 European Championship .
