Lucas Paquetá , real name Lucas Tolentino Coelho de Lima (born August 27, 1997 in Rio de Janeiro ), is a Brazilian soccer player . The midfielder is under contract with AC Milan and is a Brazilian international .

Career

Flamengo Rio de Janeiro

Lucas Paquetá started his career in indoor football in Flamengo Rio de Janeiro . There he made the leap into the professional squad in 2016. In March 2016 he signed a professional contract with Flamengo and committed himself until December 2020. Lucas Paquetá played his first competitive game with the professional squad in the state championship in Rio de Janeiro . In the home game against Bangu AC on March 5, 2016, the eighth day of the competition, he was substituted on for Ederson in the 68th minute . A second mission followed four days later in the Primeira Liga do Brasil . In the final matchday of the group stage, he came on as a substitute for Marcelo Cirino in the 85th minute of the home game against Figueirense FC . Lucas Paquetá did not get any further assignments that year. In the 2017 season he then got more playing time. In the state championship he scored his first goal for Flamengo. In the home game against Madureira EC he came on in the 63rd minute for Willian Souza Arão da Silva . In the 80th minute, he then scored to 4-0. Lucas Paquetá played his first Série A game in the 2017 championship round on May 28. Against Athletico Paranaense he came on in the 76th minute for Federico Mancuello .

Lucas Paquetá also made his international club debut that year. In the Copa Sudamericana 2017 , he was used in the second round of the competition. In the home game against CD Palestino on August 10, 2017, he came into play for Éverton Ribeiro in the 75th minute from the bench. In the last sixteen of the Sudamericana, Flamengo met Chapecoense . In the game, Lucas Paquetá scored his first goal in an international club game. Back as a reserve player, he came on in the 78th minute for Paolo Guerrero and scored in the 89th minute after a submission by Éverton Ribeiro to 5-0.

In the Copa do Brasil 2017 , Lucas Paquetá was on the pitch in both finals. In the first leg he started with the starting line-up and scored the equalizer in the 75th minute to make it 1-1. Flamengo then had to admit defeat to the Cruzeiro EC on penalties in the second leg .

AC Milan

At the beginning of January 2019, Lucas Paquetá moved to the Italian Serie A for AC Milan . He received a contract that ran until June 30, 2023. On January 21, 2019 Paquetá made his Serie A debut. In the away game against CFC Genoa he was in the starting line-up. Paquetá scored his first Serie A goal on February 10, 2019. In the home game against Cagliari Calcio , he scored 2-0 (3-0) in the 22nd minute after a presentation by Davide Calabria .

National team

In April 2016, Lucas Paquetá was appointed to the squad of the Brazilian national soccer team (U-20 men) . He was supposed to take part in two friendly matches in Europe. Lucas was also part of the squad that was put together to prepare for the Brazilian Olympic team. This squad provided the sparring partner for the Olympic team. In 2017 Lucas Paquetá took part in the 2017 U-20 South American Football Championship for Brazil .

National coach Tite Paquetá was on 17 August 2018 the squad for the friendlies on 7 September 2018 against the United States men's national soccer team and on September 11, 2018 against the national team of El Salvador in the United States called. In the game against the USA Paquetá came on in the 71st minute for Philippe Coutinho . He scored his first international goal on March 23, 2019 in the friendly against Panama in Porto. Also during the 2019 Copa América Paquetá was in the squad of the team. With this he was able to win the title. He was only in the quarter-finals against Paraguay for a brief mission when he came on for Dani Alves in the 85th minute .

Paquetá is a fan of the Rio Funk genre . He celebrates his goal celebration with the way of dancing after the music. His brother Matheus Paquetá is also a soccer player.
