Tite [ ˈtʃitʃi ], real name Adenor Leonardo Bachi (born May 25, 1961 in Caxias do Sul ), is a Brazilian soccer coach and former soccer player. He is the head coach of the Brazilian national team .
Career
After Tite had to end his professional football career due to a knee injury, he began to work as a coach in the Brazilian league in 1990.
Tite, whose family originally comes from the Italian city of Mantua , was henceforth responsible for various clubs as a trainer.
His first major title was with Internacional Porto Alegre , which he managed between 2008 and 2009 when his team won the Copa Sudamericana in 2008 .
In August 2010, Tite signed with the al-Wahda association from the United Arab Emirates . This contract was canceled after five games at Tite's request, as he accepted the offer from Corinthians from São Paulo to work there as a coach. It was his second engagement with this club, as he had already trained the first team there between 2004 and 2005.
Under his responsibility, Corinthians won the Brazilian championship in 2011 , and a year later became South American champions and club world champions . He was in charge of Corinthians training until December 2013 and then took a sporting break. He continued his professional education, watched games at the 2014 World Cup and visited clubs such as Arsenal and Real Madrid to see the training work of coaches such as B. to study Carlo Ancelotti . In 2015 he returned to Corinthians as a coach and led the team to the Brazilian championship that same season .
In June 2016, Tite was introduced as the new coach of the Brazilian national team , replacing the dismissed Carlos Dunga . Under his leadership, the national team qualified as first in the table for the 2018 World Cup in Russia. In the quarterfinals, the Seleção lost to the team from Belgium . Despite the defeat, Tite received an offer from the CBF to look after the selection for another four years. At the end of July 2018, the CBF announced the official contract extension by four years until the 2022 World Cup for Tité and the coordinator Edu .
In 2019 Tite was able to lead the team to win the Copa America 2019 title .
Private
As a teenager, Tite took physical education from Luiz Felipe Scolari , who first became his mentor and later his rival as a coach. He later studied physical education and graduated from the Catholic University of Campinas .
