Amílcar Barbuy (born March 29, 1893 in Rio das Pedras , † August 24, 1965 in São Paulo ) was an Italian - Brazilian football player and coach .

Barbuy was of Italian descent; After a long and successful career as a player and coach of various clubs from São Paulo , including the Corinthians and Palestra Itália, as well as captain of the Brazilian national team , he moved to Lazio in Italy in 1930 . While traveling to Brazil from 1931 onwards, he recruited numerous Brazilian players from Italy (from) for Lazio, which led to a real wave of migration. At the height of this development in 1933, twelve "Brazilians" were under contract with Lazio - the team was nicknamed Brasilazio - including as coach Barbuy.

In addition to Lazio, he also coached FC São Paulo , Palestra Itália , SC Corinthians Paulista , Portuguesa , AA Portuguesa Santista and Atlético Mineiro .
