Datafizierung (English datafication ) a modern technological trend that many aspects of our lives is transformed computerized data. Kenneth Neil Cukier and Victor Mayer-Schönberger introduced the English term datafication in 2013.

Examples

Examples of datafication are the way in which Facebook converts connections with users into data or how Google datafies search queries and information requests. LinkedIn converts professional connections into data, and Twitter leverages news and real-time information. In addition, the Waze app datafies information relating to driving behavior and General Electric uses information relating to engines and machines, for example.
