Antonio Donnarumma (born July 7, 1990 in Castellammare di Stabia ) is an Italian football goalkeeper who has been under contract with his youth club AC Milan in Serie A since 2017 . He is the older brother of Gianluigi Donnarumma .

Career

Donnarumma started playing football in the youth team at SS Juve Stabia before joining the AC Milan youth team in 2010 .

When Donnarumma was called up from the youth to the professional team in 2010, it was decided to lend him. His first loan station was Piacenza Calcio in 1919 . Here, however, he could not prevail. He played a total of two league games, a relegation game and a cup game. The following year he was loaned to AS Gubbio , where he was able to prove himself in the men's area for the first time.

After his return to Milan and the hopeless situation of getting a regular place in front of Marco Amelia and Vice-Captain Christian Abbiati , he moved to CFC Genoa in the summer of 2012 . But also in Genoa Donnarumma only came to play on the last match day of the 2012/13 season in a 0-0 draw against Bologna . In the following season he only sat on the bench and was out with a shoulder injury from February to March. He was then loaned to FC Bari in 1908 . There the Italian played in the regular formation until the 25th matchday. After that, however, he had to sit on the bench again and was no longer in the squad on the last day of the game.

After returning to Genoa, he was not in the squad for the first two match days before he was completely suspended. After the winter break, Donnarumma was allowed to train with the team again, but he was not used again.

For the 2016/17 season he moved to the first division club Asteras Tripoli shortly before the end of the transfer window to Greece . He made his debut on October 30, 2016 in a 1-0 win against APO Levadiakos .

In 2017 Donnarumma returned to AC Milan, where he serves as a substitute for his younger brother Gianluigi. He has only appeared twice for Milan so far. In the 1-0 win in the Europa League against Ludogorets Rasgrad and in the 1-0 win n.V. in the quarter-finals of the Coppa Italia in the Derby della Madonnina against city rivals Inter Milan .
