The Fudbalski Klub Sutjeska Foča ( Serbian Cyrillic : Фудбалски Клуб Сутјеска Фoчa) is a Bosnian-Herzegovinian football club from Foča . The club currently plays in the second highest division of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prva Liga RS .
General
After the 'Graničar' association already existed in Foča before the Second World War , the association was re-established in 1946 . The club name 'Sutjeska' was chosen as a reminder of the Battle of the Sutjeska , which took place in 1943 on the river of the same name near Foča. The club entered the lower leagues of the former Yugoslavia and initially had to struggle with financial difficulties. So it was always difficult to get funds for equipment and trips away. Since the breakup of Yugoslavia, the club has played in the leagues of the Republika Srpska . Since the 2007/2008 season, the club has been continuously represented in the Prva Liga RS . Third place in the 2010/2011 season can be seen as the greatest success. A well-known youth player of the club is Radmilo Mihajlović , who was later under contract with Dinamo Zagreb , Bayern Munich and Schalke 04 .
