The FK Borac Cacak (full official name in Serbian : Фудбалски клуб Борац Чачак, Fudbalski klub Borac Cacak ), usually as Borac Cacak , know the football section of Borac Cacak , a Serbian sports club in Čačak . The club name Borac means "fighter" in Serbian. The vertical stripes of the jerseys gave the club the nickname Zebre ( zebras ). Home stadium is the kraj Morave stadium . The club currently plays in the SuperLiga , the top division in Serbian football.

history

The association was founded on May 1, 1926 by the workers' union in Čačak . The carpenter Jovan Jolović became the first club president . 1946 Borac Čačak took part in the qualification for promotion to the 1st Yugoslav League , but failed at Red Star Belgrade . In 1958 they won the Serbian Cup, at that time a regional competition in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, which existed until 1992 . In 1962 the club was promoted to the 2nd Yugoslav league. In 1994 Borac Čačak rose to the 1st league of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia . In 2008, the club was able to qualify for the first time in its history for the UEFA Cup under coach Milovan Rajevac . In the 2008/09 UEFA Cup they failed in the last round before the group stage at Ajax Amsterdam .
