The FC Dacia Chișinău is a Moldovan football club from the capital Chișinău . The club name " Dacia " comes from a people from the 2nd century. The club, founded in 1999, plays in the highest Moldovan league, the Divizia Națională . The club colors are yellow and blue.
history
Dacia rose to the Moldovan first division in 2002 and has played there ever since. In the 2004/05 season the club was third in the championship and reached the Moldovan Cup final for the first time, but lost to FC Nistru Otaci 0-1. In 2011, Dacia became the Moldovan champion for the first time. The club has been able to qualify ten times for international competitions, most recently in 2015/16 in the Europa League. In the 2005/06 UEFA Cup, Dacia lost to FC Vaduz 2-1 in the first qualifying round when the two games were added together. In 2003 and 2007 the club qualified for the UEFA Intertoto Cup and reached the third round in each case, in which Dacia failed at FC Schalke 04 and Hamburger SV .
Stadion
The first home stadium, Stadionul Republican , held 10,500 spectators, but has since been demolished. The club now plays on the club grounds of Zimbru Chișinău .
