Football Club Zimbru Chișinău is a Moldovan football club based in Chișinău .

history

In 1947 the Dinamo Chișinău association was founded , but already three years later it was called Burevestnik Chișinău . Under this name, he was promoted to the first Soviet league in 1955. From 1958 the association called Moldova Chișinău . Under this name, the club rose from the first division in 1964. Until 1965 and 1967 to 1971 the association was called Moldova Chișinău , in 1966 it was called Aventul Chișinău for one year . Under the name given in 1972 Nistru Chișinău succeeded in 1973 and 1982, the return to the House of Lords, but after each season you had to relegate. 1986 it even went to the third division, only in 1988 the promotion succeeded.

After the collapse of the Soviet Union and the resulting independence of Moldova, the club was given its current name and the team participated as a founding member in the game operations in the Divizia Națională . The league was clearly dominated in the 1990s, until 2000 Zimbru Chișinău won all championships with the exception of the 1996/97 season. Since then, the supremacy had to be ceded to Sheriff Tiraspol .

After the cup final against Tiligul Tiraspol was lost in 1995 , Zimbru won the cup for the first time in 1997 against Nistru Otaci after a successful penalty shoot-out . Four more titles were to follow.
