The Stadionul Zimbru is a football stadium in Chișinău , the capital of the Republic of Moldova .

history

Construction began in March 2004 and was completed in May 2006. According to its own information, the stadium offers 10,500, according to a UEFA brochure 10,400 spectators. It is a UEFA category 4 stadium , the highest classification of the European Football Association and meets the requirements of UEFA and FIFA for international competitions. The Moldovan first division clubs Zimbru Chișinău and FC Dacia Chișinău and the Moldovan national football team are currently playing their games there.

The stadium is located in six hectares large sports complex Zimbru to the u. a. the Stadionul Zimbru 2 with natural grass and 2,000 places, where Zimbru Chișinău II plays, the Stadionul CPTF with artificial turf and 2,000 places, the field of the youth soccer school, a mini soccer field with artificial turf, three tennis courts, a fitness room, a medical center, apartments for the players, a club museum and the Hotel Zimbru belong.

The Stadionul Zimbru replaced the old Stadionul Republican ( Stadium of the Republic ) as the Moldovan national stadium , which was built in 1952, held 8,000 spectators and was demolished in 2007.

The construction time was 27 months. The costs amounted to 11 million US dollars .

Furnishing

The VIP boxes are designed for 250 people. There are also five reporters' booths and a room for press conferences with 44 seats.
