Alexandru Curtianu ( Russian Александр Владимирович Куртиян ) (born February 11, 1974 in Chișinău ) is a former Moldovan football player on the position of midfielder . He is currently the assistant coach of FC Smena-Zenit St. Petersburg in the 2nd football division . He completed his first professional games in the 1st division of the Soviet Union in 1991 for the Zimbru Chișinău .

Coaching career

In July 2010 Curtianu became Gavril Balint's assistant for the Moldovan national team . At the end of September 2011 he gave up this post to take over the U-21 team . At the end of September 2014, Ion Caras took over as head coach of the senior national team. After four draws from ten games, he gave up this post after a year. Since December 2016 he has been responsible for the Latvian club FK Jelgava .
