Serghei Stroenco ( Russian Сергей Васильевич Строенко ; born February 22, 1967 , † December 24, 2013 in Vladimirovca , Transnistria ) was a Moldovan football player and coach .
career
Stroenco started his football career at various Tiraspol football clubs. He made his debut on May 20, 1992 in the national team of Moldova in a friendly against the selection of Lithuania . He played a total of 46 international matches between 1992 and 2007. The defender was one of the most successful national players in his country. Most of the time he played for the Moldovan club Tiligul Tiraspol , with whom he won the Moldovan Cup in 1993, 1994 and 1995 . He ended his career at the end of 2009 and from 2010 became team manager of FC Academia UTM Chișinău . On May 11, 2012 Stroenco was dismissed as coach of Zimbru Chișinău two game days before the end of the season .
On December 24, 2013, he was killed in a car accident in Vladimirovca on the route between Tiraspol and Odessa .
