Radek Philipp (born February 12, 1977 in Ostrava , Czechoslovakia ) is a former Czech ice hockey player who was active for many years at HC Vítkovice Steel and HC Sparta Prague in the Czech extra league. He also played for Salawat Julajew Ufa , HC Košice and Luleå HF, among others .
Career
Radek Philipp began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of HC Vítkovice , for whose professional team he made his debut in the extra league in the 1998/99 season . In the course of the following season , the defender moved within the Extraliga to HC Femax Havířov , but returned at the end of the season to his home club HC Vítkovice, where he was a regular on the ice for the following three years.
The 2003/04 season Philipp spent in the Finnish SM-liiga , in which he first spent most of the main round with the Pelicans Lahti , before moving to their league rivals Espoo Blues shortly before the end of the main round . From 2004 to 2006 the Czech ran again for his former club HC Vítkovice in the extra league. He then joined Salawat Julajew Ufa from the Russian Super League , with whom he won the Russian championship title in the 2007/08 season .
The 2008/09 season began Philipp at HC Košice in the Slovak Extraliga , but left this after only three games and moved to Luleå HF from the Swedish Elitserien . There he was able to convince, so that the Russian club Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg signed him from the Continental Hockey League for the following season . The former international returned to the Czech Republic back in December 2009 and signed a contract with the capital club HC Sparta Prague , for which he played until 2014. He then received a contract with HC Košice in May 2014 and played there until October 2015. He was then without a club before he was signed by his hometown club in January 2016 and ended his career there in May 2016.
International
For the Czech Republic , Philipp took part in the Euro Hockey Tour in 2006 and 2007 . He played a total of nine games, in which he remained pointless and received 18 penalty minutes.
