The Vilpion is a river in France that runs in the Aisne department in the Hauts-de-France region . It rises in the north-eastern municipality of Plomion , generally drains in a south-westerly direction through the Thiérache landscape and reaches the Serre valley near Marle . Although it is already about 150 meters closer to its estuary and is connected to it by some artificial waterways, it still runs parallel for about eight kilometers and only flows into the Serre as a right tributary after a total of 43 kilometers at Dercy .
