The Brune is a river in France that runs in the Aisne department in the Hauts-de-France region . It rises in the municipality of Brunehamel , drains generally in a westerly direction through the Thiérache landscape and reaches the Vilpion valley between the towns of Lugny and Rogny . Although it is already about 150 meters closer to its estuary and is also connected to it by some artificial waterways, it still runs parallel for about two kilometers and only flows into the Vilpion as a left tributary after a total of 37 kilometers at Thiernu .
